What is the project?

This is a replacement school for Princess Anne Middle School, which is currently housed in the old Kellam High School building.

What is a CIP?

CIP stands for "Capital Improvement Plan".  The school division's CIP is funding the PAMS replacement school, which will be the 34th school building modernized or replaced by VBCPS over the past 20 years.

Where will the new school be built?

The new middle school will be built on the site currently occupied by the now vacant old PAMS building, which will be demolished.

Who will attend the new school?

There are no plans to redraw attendance zones as part of the PAMS Replacement project. This same question was often asked when VBCPS replaced Kellam HS.

How will you maintain backyard privacy for Foxfire residents on Lemans Way?

As part of the site planning process the design team, including landscape architect Billy Almond of WPL will work with the Foxfire neighborhood on the best way to appropriately screen the school.

Will there be a controlled cross walk to reach the sidewalk area by PA Elementary, for example across Seaboard Road?

Pedestrian access/crossings will be developed as part of the site planning process and the design team will coordinate traffic/pedestrian safety issues such as signals, crosswalks, etc with the school division's Office of Security and Safe Schools and the City's Traffic Engineering Department.
